Xuventude Crea (i.e. Prize for Galician young artists), in its eighth edition, awards its third plastic arts prize to Candy. It is a pictorial installation created with cut pieces of oil on canvas and pencil’s drawings on wall. This art piece will be exhibited at the Church of the Company Exhibition Centre in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) during the next few days of November and early December. It will be a good chance to see this field work I have developed over the last few days in this place.
Xuventude Crea is an annual art competition organised by the Xunta de Galicia (Galician Government) for young artista aged between 16 and 30 years old. Among the specialties within the competition the following can be included: theater, plastic arts, photography, music, short story, poetry, video art, designed band, graffiti, fashion and jewelry design. In short, a wide variety of contemporary art creation ways.
Candy projects a world of introspection, surreality and it plays with everyday objects in the middle of a lush forest and a bucolic field. The existence of different characters in evocative situations builds multiple intra-stories.
